Green Economy Set To Scale up the Impact of Successful Evidence-Based Green
Economy Solutions in the Region
The
2019 MENA Regional High-Level Forum on Green Economy which is taking place
during 2-4 July 2019 at Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention Centre in Manama,
Bahrain, is the result of the success of the annual, since 2014, World Green
Economy Summit model and a direct response to the requirements of participating
countries and Dubai Careers
institutional partners to
bring green economy solutions closer to the regional contexts and to deepen the
impact of transition to a green economy through scaling up and replication of
fruitful practices at the regional level. The Forum will endorse successful
evidence-based green economy solutions that meet the needs of countries in the
region in executing the UN Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.
The
2019 MENA Regional High-Level Forum, on Green Economy, that is held by the
Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the patronage of the Supreme Council
for Environment of the Kingdom of Media Marketing Dubai Bahrain,
is organized by the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) in close
collaboration with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation
(UNOSSC), and the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in the Kingdom
of Bahrain, as well as in corporation with the United Nations Resident
Coordinator’s Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as in partnership with
a number of significant stakeholders, including UNIDO ITPO Bahrain, the United
Nations Climate Change (UNFCCC), UN ESCWA, the United Nations Development
Program (UNDP), and the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The Forum will
bring together high-level government officials, media
advertising in Dubai representatives of international
organizations, including international financial institutions (IFIs),
foundations, as well as relevant private sector players and civil society
actors from around MENA region and beyond.
The
2019 MENA Regional High-Level on Green Economy is intended as an extension to
the annual World Green Economy Summit. It objects to raise regional awareness
by showcasing and scaling up, including through South-South and Triangular
Cooperation, the Dubai Business
impact of successful
evidence-based green economy solutions created and tested by countries in the
MENA region. The three thematic focus areas of the 2019 MENA Regional
High-Level Forum on Green Economy are improving regulatory and policy
frameworks for a green economy, promoting innovative green Business in
Dubai investment through public-private partnerships, and advancing
national-level capacity development for a holistic green action.
