Jumeirah College Dubai Celebrated ‘Graduation Day’
Students
accept certificates at a grand Graduation Ceremony in the presence of royal
guests, teaching staff and families
Over
140 students from Jumeirah College Dubai walked across the stage UAE
Business Directory
to accept their certificates at a grand Graduation Ceremony in the presence of
royal guests, teaching staff and families.
The
special guests at the ceremony included His Highness Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum
bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose son Sheikh Khalifa Bin Saeed Al Maktoum is in the
graduating year. Dino Varkey, Chief Executive Officer of GEMS Education was
also present at the ceremony.
Jumeirah
College Dubai has been rated as an ‘Outstanding’ for the ninth year in the KHDA
inspection process. Jumeirah College has not just contributed towards the Media
Marketing Dubai academics
of the students but also has added its efforts in the overall development of
the students.
The
event included an inaugural speech by Emirati Global Shaper, Omar Al Busaidy
who gave motivation to the students as they prepare themselves for higher
studies. The graduate students have already received offers from the
universities across Canada, UK, Holland, and London such as Imperial College
London, Durham University, University of Glasgow, UCL, KCL, University of
Southern California, University of Cambridge and Parsons School of Design.
A
special award was also honored in the name of Mohammed Kassim, a former student
who sadly died some years ago. Mohammed Kassim was a well-respected student who
showed great values throughout his time at Jumeirah College. The Mohammed
Kassim award Dubai Business was presented to Antoine de
Mascarel who has not only been an exceptional student but also has committed
much of his spare time in organizing a surf club for Students of Determination.
The
Principal of Jumeirah College, Mr Simon O’Connor said; “Our Graduation
Ceremony is always a wonderful day as it celebrates the culmination of many
years of hard work by our students and the success that Dubai
Careers have
subsequently achieved. I am extremely proud of our students for what they
achieved as they head towards the next goal in their academic lives.”
Some
of the graduating students this year included stars such as Irini Van
Zijderveld-Paipai who competed at a national level in Fencing, Caterina
Battiston who represented the UAE in Netball, and Rosemary Wooley and Zaid Khan
who were presented with Gold International Awards Jobs
in UAE by the
HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex earlier this year.
The
school over the years have created an environment where students are challenged
and raise a bar to achieve the demanding targets put ahead of them.
